Yearbook and Leadership
In the Yearbook elective, students learn basic photography skills with DSLR cameras, learn how to take quality photos, and how to edit and compose yearbook pages. Basic photography skills in middle school will be further built on in high school and can lead to professional photography as an occupation. Basic photo editing and graphic design skills can also be built on in high school and lead to graphic design positions. Best of all, students contribute to creating a lasting memory book for years to come!
As the school year gets underway, this elective transitions into the leadership elective in which students create events for the whole school and take initiative on building school community.
MIT does not assign elective courses to students. Instead, as the term “elective” suggests, students elect their own choice. The idea is to give students a voice in their academic career helping them develop and shape their leadership skills.
