6th 7th 8th Grade STEAM - Lee, Dennis

About Me:

My Name is Dennis Lee and I am excited to join the community at McKinley Institute of Technology this year. I will be teaching 7th grade Math in addition to courses in Engineering and Computer Science. I previously taught 7th grade Math/Science at FDR K-8 in Daly City. I started my career as an engineer working at Hewlett Packard in Cupertino many years ago. But I realized that teaching was really my calling. I received my credential through San Francisco State University focusing on urban, multicultural, multilingual communities. I have taught in San Francisco and Daly City.

I live in San Francisco and have been married for 9 years. This summer we adopted two kittens (Chloe and Zoey) who have been a joy and wonder. They were rescued near my old school by a foster family; they are from the same litter. I love watching and coaching volleyball. I can speak Cantonese and can read Spanish (working on being fully conversant).

Mi nombre es Dennis Lee y estoy emocionado de unirme a la comunidad en el Instituto de Tecnología McKinley este año. Estaré enseñando matemáticas de séptimo grado además de cursos de ingeniería y ciencias de la computación. Anteriormente enseñé Matemáticas/Ciencias de séptimo grado en FDR K-8 en Daly City. Comencé mi carrera como ingeniero trabajando en Hewlett Packard en Cupertino hace muchos años. Pero me di cuenta de que enseñar era realmente mi vocación. Vivo en San Francisco y he estado casado por 9 años. Este verano adoptamos dos gatitos (Chloe y Zoey) que han sido una alegría y una maravilla. Fueron rescatados cerca de mi escuela anterior por una familia adoptiva; son de la misma camada de gatos. Me encanta ver y entrenar voleibol. Puedo hablar Cantonés y puedo leer español (trabajando para ser completamente versado).
